Raised in Wyoming, I drew inspiration from my grandfather and uncle, truck drivers who preceded me. My uncle's invitation to ride in his semi solidified my desire to drive. After moving to Utah from ages 15 to 21, I encountered CDL obstacles due to deafness until age 35. Returning to Wyoming, I earned a Class B intrastate CDL. Later, I transitioned into videophone relay services training and installation in Texas and South Dakota. Upon learning of CDL hearing exemptions, I pursued and obtained a Class A CDL in 2015. Today, I continue driving. As a father of four with 12 grandchildren, I firmly support DTU and advocate for deaf individuals' driving abilities.
